As co-founders of MarcoPoloLine (MPL), Mercator Cargo Systems Ltd attended the fourth MPL annual conference in Sicily from 14th until 18th October 2011. Mercator was represented at the event by Paul, CEO; and James, Sales Executive.
Over 130 people representing 84 freight forwarding companies from 53 countries attended the event at the Etna Golf Resort hotel.
There were two full days of face-to-face meetings, one day playing golf and the last day was celebrated with a trip to the summit of Mount Etna followed by a party in the evening.
“This was a great opportunity to meet new business partners and cement relationships with established contacts” said Paul Goehlert, director of Mercator. “There is a great family feeling amongst the members of MPL; we do business together, play golf together, eat together and have fun together”.
The MPL conference has become an established part of Mercator’s calendar and is a great opportunity to discuss anything from sales strategies to financial and operational matters. Paul commented “We had the opportunity to meet partners from all over the world, so when one of our clients has a logistics issue almost anywhere in the world, we have a personal contact we can call on for local knowledge and help.”
MPL is a global association of small to medium sized freight forwarders committed to personal attention and professional customer service.
