We regularly import from South Korea into the UK. Recently we have been handling large volumes of import air freight from South Korea for our customer based in the UK.
The UK based importer purchases their goods from South Korea on an EXW incoterm. This incoterm puts the UK importer responsible for the arranging of the shipment from door to door. Our agent based in Seoul (thanks to our founding membership of the freight forwarder network MarcoPoloLine) liaises with the exporter in South Korea as to cargo readiness and arranges the collection of the goods with delivery to Incheon airport for air freight from South Korea to the UK.
There are daily departures for direct flights from South Korea to London Heathrow. Air freight from South Korea takes 1-2 days depending on whether you have selected a direct flight and taking into account time for processing through the airport at either end and customs clearance.
Once the goods have arrived in the UK, Mercator takes over by arranging the UK import customs clearance, payment to HMRC of import VAT & duty, settling final airline fees, and delivery to the UK importer’s door.
If you have a shipment for air freight from South Korea to the UK, then get in touch with our import team who will be pleased to provide you with a quotation for your freight needs. Similarly, if you have a sea freight consignment for shipping from South Korea, we can assist with that too, handling full container loads and part (LCL) loads. Our team can be reached by calling (+44) 02392 756 575, emailing sales@mercatorcargo.co.uk or completing the form below and someone will be in touch.
